Chandigarh Transport Undertaking under Chandigarh Administration invited online applications for recruitment to 75 posts (including 10 backlog SC posts) of Helper (Skilled) on regular basis. Interested candidates can apply online through Chandigarh Administration website www.chdctu.gov.in from 11 July 2014 till 11 August 2014 (up to 1700 hours).

Vacancy Details

Total vacancies: 75 posts

1. Helper -Mechanic: 56 posts

2. Helper -Electrician: 5 posts

3. Helper -Blacksmith: 7 posts

4. Helper -Carpenter: 3 posts

5. Helper -Welder: 2 posts

6. Helper -Painter: 2 posts

[Note: backlog vacancies will be cleared first and the selection list against backlog posts shall be published separately]

Pay Scale (for all categories): Rs.5910-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs.1900 + usual allowances admissible from time to time.

Qualifications: Matriculation and Certificate from I.T.I. or any other Govt. Recognized Technical Institution in relevant trade.

Age Limit: (as on 1 January 2014)

Minimum: 18 years

Maximum: 25 years

[Upper age limit is relax-able by 3 years for OBC category candidates and by 5 years for SC/ ST category candidates]

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the written test.

Short-listed, eligible candidates will be called for written test (Objective Type). The number of questions will be 100 to 120 carrying one mark for each. There will be no negative marking. The duration of written test will be of 2 hours.

Final selection will be done on the basis of the merit in the written test.

Processing Fees

Non-refundable processing fee of Rs.400 (Rs.200 for SC and Ex-Servicemen category candidates) is to be deposited in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI).

Physically Handicapped persons are exempted from payment of processing fee.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through Chandigarh Administration website www.chdctu.gov.in  from 11 July 2014. The online application can be done till 11 August 2014 (up to 1700 hours).
